Chiquita is following me!

For some reason every time I turn around, there is a Chiquita sticker! Well not everywhere but in quite a few places. I'm starting to wonder if Chiquita has a new stalking plan to stalk people until they become addicted to their bananas. What a campaign that would be!

But seriously, Mal and I went to the grocery store about a week ago and discovered theses Chiquita stickers on the bananas. Every since that visit I keep finding them everywhere.

What is going on...

Chiquita sticker number 1

Chiquita sticker number 2

Chiquita stalker sticker number 3

Chiquita stalker creepy sticker number 4

Chiquita sticker number 5

I mean seriously, I think the campaign is totally working because I have been addicted to bananas for the past 8 days...banana with granola, banana sandwiches, banana creme cheesecake, banana and PB! I am going to turn into a banana(my Mom always said you are what you eat).

Does anyone know how to make them stop? I really don't want to turn into a slender yellow object that turns brown whenever it hits something. That just sounds miserable!

A birthday princess

Let me introduce you to my friend Kristi... she is a princess and she loves Jason's deli, haha! Today is her birthday and she is probably celebrating it with her husband-to-be somewhere in Alabama or maybe New York...you just never know what fun and crazy trip she has on her agenda.

Anyway on her birthday, I thought a song would be appropriate...

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Kristiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday girl! Hope it was the best one yet!

Surprise!

Yep, we pulled it off! My Dad, brother and I managed to surprise my Mom with a special lunch in Raleigh for her birthday. Here's how it happened...

About a month ago, my brother and I were conversing about how we could see Mama on her birthday. Since I live about 7 hours away, we knew we would have to begin planning immediately to make it work. We let Daddy in on the surprise because he had to be the chauffeur that got her to the location. We decided we would take her to her favorite restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory in Raleigh. She would show, without knowing Brock and I would be there and be completely surprised. That was the plan!

So, everything was set...I drove up yesterday and stayed with Brock for the night so we would be in the same place and could drive up to Raleigh together. Always better to put us together then to trust us to be somewhere at the same time, on time :)

Anyway, we each called Mama to wish her Happy Birthday this morning and, of course asked her what she was doing for her special day. She told us all about how Daddy was taking her to Raleigh but he wouldn't tell her why. She said all he kept saying was 'It's a SURPRISE!' Brock and I giggled each time we got off the phone because we were so excited because we were the surprise!

Around 11:40 AM, Brock and I arrived at the restaurant, we snatched up a table and waiting anxiously staring at the door for Mama and Daddy's arrival. We finally saw them walk in so we both ducked down a bit and waited for the hostess to bring them over. When she did, we popped up and said 'Happy Birthday'... Not too loud though, I mean we were in public!

Mama was so surprised and confused all at the same time. SHe just kept saying "I thought you were working and did you fly in for this?" It was perfect!

We had some roses waiting for her on the table and a little gift to make her feel extra special :)

Here are some of the moments...

Mama and Brock showing off their yummy desserts!

This was the 30th Anniversary Cheesecake but Mama said it was to celebrate her 30th birthday, haha!

I was very excited about Daddy's Banana Creme Cheesecake! Delicious

It was an awesome day and I am so glad I got to see my Mama on her special day! Love you Mama!!!

I love this Doctor !

Q:Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A:Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it. don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q:Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A:You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q:Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A:No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q:How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A:Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q:What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A:Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q:Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A:YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q:Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?

A:Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q:Is chocolate bad for me?

A:Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q:Is swimming good for your figure?

A:If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me..

Q:Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A:Hey!'Round'is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

The practice field...

As you know if you read my Facebook status today, I have put a red shirt back on. Some you have commented on my decision and I think that I need to explain so that everyone is aware of my reasoning.

You see, back in January I decided that after a few months of not dating, I would jump back into the "market." I was optimistic about my decision and I thought that by taking off my red jersey I would be excited about my adventure in to the infamous dating land. Well, I have found that the adventure isn't as rewarding or exciting as I thought.

I'm not quite sure about the men that are being produced these days. I have met a few wonderful guys but I have also met a few not-so-wonderful guys. I think that somewhere between graduating college and stepping into the so called 'real world,' I must have also step into a world of immature and confused boys.

Here's my thing, I'm not trying to throw out any factual statements, I am strictly giving you my opinion. I don't ask much when it comes to someone I would like to start a relationship with. It's really simple actually! Here's my criteria:

1. A man who loves God and is actively seeking what God wants for his life.
2. A man with dedication towards his family, friends and career.
3. A man who can bring joy to my heart and a smile to my face.
4. A man who can protect but can also be sensitive in the appropriate times.

Those are the main four!

Now every girl has another list which includes things like 'he must tall, he must be athletic, he must be funny, he needs to be musical, etc.' These are all bonuses... honestly girls want someone who can be their best friend and someone who can lead them spiritual and emotionally! Girls aren't really looking for high school behavior or someone that has no idea what he wants to do or where he wants to go in life.

So with all that said, I have put my red shirt back on, but hear me out, this shirt is different. It's my practice jersey...I'm just warming up! I'm preparing for a big game one day. And when the day comes when some guy steps up and shows me a Godly protrait of how I should be treated, I'll take the red practice jersey off and run into the game giving 110 percent!

Besides practice makes perfect, right?!

Things I don't quite understand...

...and honestly don't want to understand:

* Wearing Ugg boots with skirts. I mean seriously!

* Facebook applications. Is there any way to make those things stop?

* Why people like Katie Perry's music.

* Having a garage but parking in the driveway.

* I-Phone applications. Who really needs to be able to play drums on their cell phone?

* Why we still owe money at the end of the year for taxes. Don't we pay enough?

* Guys...and I don't think I ever will understand them!

* Why the work day starts at 8am and not 11am.

* Why Google doesn't have a to-do list lab.

* Why people can't be on time. It's really not that hard!

There are plenty more but we'll go with these for now!

What are some things you don't quite understand?

What would we do without men...

I walked in to the laundry room Monday night, with my socks on(that is an important part of the story) and as I stepped on to the linoleum floor, my socks where no longer dry and comfortable. They, instead became wet and squishy, yuck!

You see, what had happened was the washing machine sprung a leak from the cold water PVC hose. What did that mean for Jen and I? Well it meant we couldn't do laundry, which is a girl's worst nightmare and it meant we had to fix the PVC hose. Now as most of you could imagine, Jen and I had never fixed a PVC hose. I mean, how many girls are put in the situation where the Washer breaks and their Dad or boyfriend isn't around to fix it? Well, for us that situation happened! We both are boyfriendless and our Dads live about 400 miles away so this task was ours for the taken.

So, last night we began to tackle the task. We did, however, recruit our friend Kris to come help with the process. We just thought that it would be beneficial to have a male around to help with things like moving the extra heavy machine or tightening the hose ends to the wall or just to explain how the whole process worked. Good thought right?

Well here's what actually happened...
Jen and I fixed the machine. We moved the heavy Washer ourselves to towel the water up from the floor. We removed and replaced the hose on the back of the Washer and tightened it ourselves. Jen managed to wash her face during the process as the water shot from the hose when it wasn't tightened enough...That was an 'America's Funniest Home Video' waiting to happen! We even had time for a photo moment...

What did Kris do during this whole process, you ask? Well he observed...

...with his drink in his hand!

Ahhh, What would we do without men?

Hmmmm....well we would get things done! haha

Outcome of the evening: Washer fixed! Load of clothes washed! Another female accomplishment checked off the list!

I got engaged

OK so not really but you have to hear this story!

Tonight me and Mallori met my brother and his friends down at the Hard Rock Cafe in the city. It was such a wonderful experience...fun is what I like to call it. Brock's friends make me laugh and I have really enjoyed getting to know them these past two days.

Anyway, as we were leaving from our dining experience, Luke, one of Brock's friends, asked me to take a picture of him and Brock...so I did. He asked to look at the photo and somehow in seriously less then a minute of me giving him the camera, I turned around and Luke was on one knee in marriage proposal mode and my brother was snapping shots.

I'm not sure how it's suppose to feel when someone proposes but I was completely shocked, freaked out and embarrassed all at the same time. At the moment when I think the girl is supposed to say YES, I was saying GET UP, GET UP I'm going to kill you. Haha! It was classic. Luke through his hands up and yelled to the restaurant "She said YES!" I can't remember if I did or didn't say yes but either the way the ring made it on my finger and several people gave their Congratulations!

Luke said if he was going to accomplish anything this weekend it was that I would never forget him, haha! And I think he accomplished his goal. I don't think I could ever forget my first proposal:)

Happy Birthday Brock

Today was my brother's 24th birthday...WOW is he getting old, haha!

He's down visiting ATL for the ACC tournament, cheering for the Heels and of course he made some time for me :) It's always fun when you get a visit from your family. There's this awesome feeling of being complete.

Brock couldn't have picked a better weekend to come. Hopefully I'll get to show him a little of the city, some really good food and if we're lucky he'll get to see a Tar Heel victory!

Happy Birthday bub!

I didn't fall...

...and it's amazing that I didn't!

My niece would pick a birthday activity that could cause me to break my leg or my face, haha!

Today was Summer's 7th Birthday party and we celebrated at Bladez on Ice in Greenville, NC. She had so much fun with her little friends slipping and sliding on the ice...I guess you could call it skating, ha. I will say that for 7 and 8 year olds, they were phenomenal!

They had this little thing that looked like a walker..like the ones older people use...they had that on the ice and the kids could use it to help keep them stay upright instead of horizontal on the freezing floor. Problem is, they don't make these for adults:( It sure would have come in handy for me to have one of them instead of getting that embarrassing feeling every time a 5 year old wheezed passed me with ease. Although if I had a walker on ice, it would have made me feel even older, ha!

But I didn't fall and that is something to celebrate, haha!

Here are some pictures from the fun event:

Aren't they adorable?

See, I was pretty good on skates:)

Summer had an awesome and from what I understand, we'll be back skating again next year!

Baby Hinton's Shower

Well, I spent the night in Shelby, NC with Downey, Aaron and the Washburns... who could ask for a better Friday night. I always enjoy visiting here because there's always funny stories and always good food. Yes, Mama Washburn can cook up a good ole' country meal, yum!

Today was Downey's baby shower. It's that time where we get to shower baby Hinton in gifts before he even arrives...and believe me, he got some great things. There were bottles and binkies, clothes and diapers, baby balm and cute little socks. He is going to be one pimped out little boy!

Here are some pictures from the shower.

Yummy cupcakes

Me and Downey! I am so thankful for her.

Downey is finally showing!

I was so glad Tiffany came by.

How cute is this...it's a diaper cake.

We had so much fun and the cupcakes definitely won me over :)

The only thing that would have made this day any better was Brett. I sure do wish Brett was there :(

Headed to North Carolina for a weekend adventure! Lots to do in 4 days:)

While I'm home I will be visiting Downey and Aaron, attending their baby shower, visiting Janis and that beautiful baby boy Aiden, attending Summer's 7th birthday party at Bladez on Ice, eating at Parker's BBQ multiple times, playing with Cambi and Arley in the yard, visiting my high school to see Coach Cobbs and Ms Hedrick, stopping by the pre-school to sing a song and eating lunch with my dear friend Jenni.

Whew...that's a lot but I am ready! Bags are packed, let's hit the road!

CNN Anchor Can't Tell 'Nuts From ...

Wednesday, March 04, 2009

A U.S. airline is now selling "penis" on flights, an anchorwoman has declared.

The slip-up happened on CNN when anchorwoman Zain Verjee was reporting about Northwest Airlines now selling peanuts on flights.

Verjee mentioned the word "penis" three times instead of "peanuts."

"Northwest began serving penis this month as its merger partner Atlanta-based Delta airlines has done for years," Verjee said.

"Georgia is the top penis producing state in the country."

The footage has been uploaded to YouTube in many different versions and has become an internet sensation with more than 700,000 views today.

Perhaps the caption at the bottom of the screen distracted her – it declared "nuts on Northwest flights."

Eight sets, Whatever!

First off, let me start by saying 'What was Jason thinking tonight?' Breaking up with Melissa on National television and telling her that he was going to see if he had a shot with Molly. YOU"RE ENGAGED Jason! He totally just jumped into the jerk category. Why is so hard for some guys to be smart about how they treat girls. Is that to much to ask?

Note to all men:
DON'T break up with a girl that you're engaged to on television EVER!!!!! And especially don't ask out another girl immediately after!

Anyway on the better and much smarter things...today was the day! The Stair Challenge at NAMB and I completed it. I did 8 sets of stairs which consisted of 5 floors (6 if you count ground as a floor) in 20.06 minutes. That's pretty good!! I mean I'm no ready to climb the Sears Tower but I think I did pretty well.

We have been "training" for this day for about 5 weeks now and it's exciting to look back at how far you've come since day one.

Eight sets, WHATEVER! I'm doing 10 tomorrow :) maybe...
