Packing

Well, I began the process of packing all of my belongings up in boxes. It's amazing how much stuff you find when your moving things around! I found old pictures and letters and just sweet things that spark memories in your life. It's fun to come across a sweet note from someone that you hold dear to your heart. It makes you remember that person and how special they are to you even though your lives have changed so much. Today I began to think of packing like life. Every now and then we pack up and move on. We take some things with us and leave some behind in order to grow. But no matter how many times you pack up, there will always be something that will bring you back and help to remember just how special things are!

It's crazy to think that in a matter of a month I'll be somewhere completely new. New friends, new job and a new way of life. I gave advice once about moving and it's time that I sit back and listen to what I said. Moving is a big change and it can make you sad to know that your leaving people that you cherish. You won't see them everyday and you can't talk to them everyday but the good thing is, the ones that are true and the ones that you cherish will always be there for you...no matter how far you travel, or how long your gone!!!

Dreaming with a Broken Heart

I bought a new cd today and there is a song on it that caught my ear. It's weird because when I began to listen to it, I thought about how many times people dream with a broken heart. Most of the time in our lives, we go through things that cause us to be sad or hurt. We begin to think about our lives down the road when our hearts have healed. I thought this concept for a song was so clever and true so I thought I would share it with you!!

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part
You roll outta bed and down on your knees
And for the moment you can hardly breathe
Wondering was she really here?
Is she standing in my room?
No she's not, 'cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone....

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The giving up is the hardest part
She takes you in with your crying eyes
Then all at once you have to say goodbye
Wondering could you stay my love?
Will you wake up by my side?
No she can't, 'cause she's gone, gone, gone, gone, gone....

Now do i have to fall asleep with roses in my hand
Do i have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do i have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do i have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Baby won't you get them if i did?
No you won't, 'cause you're gone, gone, gone, gone, gone....

When you're dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part
~John Mayer

Words can't express how I feel when I hear it. So listen to it and see what I mean! Maybe we'll get the same feeling!

Holiday, Friends & Drama

Wow so much has happened in the past four, five days...I can't remember when I last wrote. For the first time in like four years I was able to go home a couple of days before Thanksgiving instead of the day of Thanksgiving. The second I got there my dad put me to work! He had me scrubbing bath tubs and mopping floors. What a great way to start vacation..haha. Anyway Wednesday night me and couple of friends I graduated high school with decided to get together for some catch up...and a catch up it was. I hadn't seen some of those people since 2001. That's a long flippin time to not see your friends. We had a great time that lasted till three in the A.M... I even ran into a familiar face later that evening that made me smile! I'm still smiling...
Anyway Turkey Day was great. I ate way too much and take too many naps! Me, Mama and Grandma put up the Christmas decorations just like years past but this year we left the angel for Summer to put on the top of the tree. She was so excited and adorable.
For the past three days I've been in Mrytle Beach, SC shopping my life away. You see it was tax free weekend and the stores were calling our names! We definitely knocked of some names on the Christmas list! The trip was fun but ended kinda sour! You see I started a tiff with my brother that went unresolved, which sucks. I feel really bad and hopefully he will forgive me before Christmas gets here......

Happy Feet

The past couple of days have been full of surprises. Friday night I attempted to drive home from Nashville, TN straight through, only to stop once for gas. Little did I know there would be a slight delay in my plan. For some reason, somebody decided it would be a good idea to close I-40 eastbound with no detour signs! I'm not sure about anyone else, but I don't think this was such a good idea. Not only did I get lost, I got really lost. I ended in the middle of nowhere looking at cow crossing signs and no street lights. Not fun at all! I had to call Dad at 11:30 at night for directions. He got out the map and an hour and fifteen minutes later I was back on 40, not far from where they sent me off! Let's just say that 11 hours on I-40 is not my idea of a good time!!!!
Anyway the weekend was great. I got to hang out with some amazing people and watch a good band in Hatch, Overflow! There was such a calming feeling being in Hatch and on Caswell's campus! Gosh I love that feeling...
Sunday night about 12 of us piled into the movie theater to see the new movie "Happy Feet." It has to be the cutest movie I have ever seen! Everyone with us laughed throughout the entire movie. It has great music and a great story line! It was a fun time! I wouldn't have wanted to see it with any other group of people! It was a great weekend and I must say, it was just what I needed!!

Kareoke Night

I've always known that kareoke was fun but last night reassured me of that very fact. After a delicious trip to the Coco Tree, we all decided to go sing some kareoke at a local place in Franklin. There was about ten of us and let me tell you...It was the perfect mix for this occasion. We had a couple of solo performances topped off with a remix version of Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" by Brock himself. Too funny for words...You have to see the video!
We all started to become sneaky by signing people up without them knowing, but I think Brock was the sneakiest. He decided to sign me, Robbie, Alisha, Shawn and some random guy named Bill up to sign the kids song, "The Wheels on the Bus."Oh yes there was laughing...Way too much. I think we decided to make this part of our every week routine! So I can't wait for next Wednesday!!!

Waterfalls

So I took Kim to the doctor this morning and on our way there we realized something... At Vanderbilt Hospital there are waterfalls in the parking deck. As you drive through you pass under these fountains of beautiful water. It's like being in a tropical rainforest only in the middle of Nashville. It smells so clean and fresh. It's like an escape from the crazy world around you!
Ok so I lied about that whole thing...the waterfalls are holes in the parking deck ceilings that drown your car as you go under them, but if you close your eyes, you can imagine that they're whatever you want them to be. So we did. It eased the tension of being at the hospital!
Today has been so fun despite the pouring rain. Kim and I had lunch with Zack from Flicker Records along with Aegis, Mark, T-Bone, and Kids in the Way.
T-Bone cracked me up rapping the middle of Baja Fresh! And if that wasn't funny enough, he got Bethany Dillion on the phone for another rap session. What a crazy guy...
The day is only half over and we got some crazy plans for tonight. Greek for dinner, then hanging out at the Coco Tree and then some kareoke! Pray for us..haha

How cool is this...

Brock ,
I just wanted to say thank you for a great show and also a kick in the pants on my faith. What you said tonight is so true. I realized that i was drowning myself in sin by going out after football game nights and doing the cool thing by drinking and you challenged us to take that step and beleive in what you want to and not be pressured into doing something you really dont want to do but just do it for the crowd. I am so glad i came tonight it was a lifechanging experience and not only are you a great performer but also a great example of someone who supports our lord and savior jesus christ. I appriciate everything you have done for us in prattville and would love to have a responce from you but im sure you get a million of these things. May god bless you and keep you safe throughout your carrer.
god bless,
jacob
That makes everything worth it!

Party!!

Picture this....20 people crammed into two rooms, some Justin Timberlake and Usher being deejed on the stereo, a buffet style dinner set up which included some fabulous steak, a couple of magic tricks and to top it off...FONDUE! Yes we had a party and that was just the short version.

Brock and Auny decided to have a get together in order to thank all the performers and athletes for their hard work this fall on the FX tour. We had so much fun just hanging out, relaxing and being silly. Brock and Auny cook a fabulous dinner and ended it with a fondue fountain accompanied by strawberries, bananas and yummy cake. We had a dance party where everyone shook their booties. Manwell, Pablo and Blanca showed us how it was done. They pulled out all kinds of moves. Brock entertained all of us by showing some new tricks and as usual leaving us all in awe! Oh and watching Pablo try to recreate the tricks was a whole show in itself. All we needed to make it perfect was Matt, Jonathan and Caleb!

Tonight was just what we needed after a hard week. We laughed at the great moments and encouraged each other about the tough moments. Everyone left with a smile and a joy in their heart.

It can't get any better!

Well the FX tour for 2006 has come to an end...but we went out with a bang! This week in Prattville, Alabama there were around 6800 people who attended FX, about 800 decisions with around 547 of those being first time decisions, and a group of people who became sad when it was all over. These past three days have been amazing. This tour has allowed an eclectic group of individals to come together in order to form a family. Building relationships that will stay strong no matter how long it will be until we are all back together again!

There is an amazing feeling to be standing in a room when 200-300 people stand to enter the counseling room. It was like a crowd rushing the field at a football game...so much energy and just this feeling of peace over everything.

A couple of things happened this week that were incredible. Tim landed a triple flip, blindfolded on his skateboard, Group 1 Crew and Eleventyseven joined together to create one of the hottest sounds I've heard in a while, I saw kids crowd surfing and jumping up and down like it was their first concert ever, Chris pulled of a back flip on his BMX bike ever night this week, Frank did the craziest bar ride I've ever witnessed, and Brock delivered three messages straight from the heart glorifying our Savior. Simply amazing!! I wish we could do it all over again tomorrow...

Where's the camera

Today has been great! We had a show today in Johnson City, TN. It was awesome as usual, but I think I like the night shows better! Anyway after the show we stopped by for a visit with some of Brock friends(Third Day and Leeland). We were on a tight schedule so we didn't stay as long as I had hoped. Leeland was sound checking and they sounded amazing...I'm sure their show was awesome.
After we left that venue, this is where the crazy things began to happen. It was 4:25 pm and we were starving so we stopped for some Indian food, but it was closed. We tried two other restaurants, both were on a wait!! WHAT...a wait at 4:30 pm, that's what we thought. We established that all the Christians were eating before the concert. Brock said it would be like church, just with food of course.Well anyway, we saw a sign for this sushi place, but we couldn't find it...so Brock being the comedian that he is, stopped and asked the Chinese people in a nail shop. The expression on their faces was priceless. You could tell they didn't that question often! Well after we located the restaurant, it was closed till 5. So Brock and I decided to go in this small shop to look at the swords or as Brock calls them S-words (long story). Well, we walk in and in the corner are to Japanese ladies singing kareoke, loudly and out of tune...I wish I could remember the song because I would re-enact it later for you, but I was caught off guard and began to laugh and could not stop. We stayed through three songs...It was the best laugh I've had in a while!!!

All we could think was "Where's the camera, when you need it?" Just another normal day on the road with Brock and Auny.

right place, right time

Sometimes when things seem to go wrong, you get this feeling like maybe this was a bad idea or something is not right because it's not going as planned. But then there is also this feeling that comes over you when you realize that you're in the right place, at the right time. I got that feeling last night at the show in Mrytle Beach! You see, I've seen the Hidden Agenda show like maybe five times now, but last night something different happened. God's presence is always around us, but you could feel God in the room, working in the lives of some of those people last night. The people were hungry. They listened eagerly and when the show was show was over you could tell they had been touched.

There was this one specific point in the show where Brock stood up and said, "Now is the time for us to take a stand and share what we believe. Time to let everyone know about this amazing relationship we have with Jesus Christ..."
At that point, everyone in the theater stood up clapping, really clapping. They got it and you could tell they were ready to share it. After witnessing this public display of love, I realized that everything we do, everytime we share our faith... people listen...even if we feel like it goes in one hear and out the other...people listen and lives are changed. Last night you could feel lives being changed...

That's what I call being in the right place, at the right time! It was amazing

posing pumpkins

I have found a new love for Halloween. I'll call it Posing Pumpkins. Let me explain...
This year was my first year ever visiting the Pumpkin Patch. It's kinda an overwhelming experience. Picture this, two bascially young girls(being me and Megs) walking onto a rather small area covered with hundreds, and I mean hundreds of orange pumpkins. The possibilities are endless. You could get a small pumpkin, medium, large, a couple of ugly, but decorative gords and if you're more into decorating the whole house, they had colored corn, some hay cubes and sooo much more. Our purpose for visiting was basically for a photo shoot, and we got one.
We wanted to take some picture s with the pumpkins, you know to remember Halloween 2006. Well, we met this older man who obviously loved to takes pictures. As soon as the camera was in his hand, it was like a new career had entered his mind. He made us pose with the huge blow up turkey, with a single pumpkin, together holding pumpkins and if I'm not mistaken he even told Megs to show a little shoulder for the picture...haha. Me and Megs laughed the whole time and we even took home one of those picture perfect pumpkins.
We had a blast and we have a portfolio to prove it! If your lucky I'll show you the pictures sometime!!!
